Reflections are not so much the act of looking back as they are the art of looking inward. Reflection gives us insight and helps us understand and embrace our life journey. With reflection comes growth, and to grow, one must dream. Dreams make us wonder, and wander. Dreams open our minds to possibilities. Dreams motivate us to have the courage to dare to live.
Pernie Fallon and Guy Giersch offer an intimate glimpse of “Reflections and Dreams” in their paintings and photographs.

featuring artists Pernie Fallon and Steven Napper
Opening Reception

In this inspired new body of work, every painting is a journey. Pernie Fallon and her mentor, Steven Napper, have combined their experiences from recent trips, documenting the people and places in rich and vivid color. Fallon uses pastel to celebrate the beauty of nature in her luminous landscapes of favorite places in New Mexico and around McKinney. Napper’s subject matter, painted in pastel and oil, expands to include the native people of the American southwest, as well as, Guatemala, in the joys of daily living. Both artists interpret their adventures with exuberant strokes from vibrant palettes, taking us on a spectacular journey into color.
Journey Into Color will be on display October 8 - November 9, 2011.
Out in the middle of New Mexico’s Valley of Shining Stone near Abiquiu, painter Pernie Fallon and photographer Guy Giersch came across a makeshift wood door propped up on a barbed-wire fence. Spray painted on the door was a joke, and on second thought, a dare, a challenge of sorts. It said simply “Door Into the Unseen.” As if the supernatural scenery itself was not enough, the curious message on the door inspired their latest body of work.
The door opened the artists’ eyes, merging visions of land with artistic and perceptive interpretation. Inspired by the beauty of terrain well-suited for both cowboys and aliens, Giersch and Fallon responded with camera and pastel, venturing beyond what existed in the landscape and creating impressions full of temperament and intensity.
Into the Unseen is visual poetry --- a way to explain what is seen, not only on the surface, but beyond the obvious landscape, a look into the unseen.
